Do Labradors shed?

Asked in Dog Breeds, Dog Grooming, Dog Health, Labrador,

Labradors Fur

Oh yes, and quite a lot! I’ll always know a Lab has been in my consult room as there will be lots of fur all over the floor and consult table; they tend to shed more when excited or anxious.

Shedding All Year Round

These dogs have a double coat and shed all times of the year, though will have a heavier moulting season when the weather warms up.

Coat Care Tips

These dogs benefit from daily brushing, and owners may consider using de-shedding tools such as Furminator brushes too.

Lab owners often invest in pet hair vacuum cleaner as well as lots of lint rollers, to keep the fur in their home and car to a minimum.
